Seattle authorities hold closed-door conference with CHOP protesters – Q13 News Seattle

SEATTLE– Friday, city officials and protesters satisfied behind closed doors at the Very first African Methodist Episcopal Church in Capitol Hill to speak about the CHOP

In a conference not announced to the public or media, Mayor Jenny Durkan, Fire Chief Harold Scoggins, Andre Taylor, founder of Not This Time, and protesters discussed the CHOP.

Outside, church officials prevented dozens of individuals and news outlets from entering the conference.

Q13 asked Mayor Jenny Durkan for remark after the meeting, but she refused to offer any statement.

Authorities with Seattle Fire stated Chief Scoggins was not available for interviews during the day.

The specifics of the conference are unknown, nevertheless the protesters who made it inside for this conference say they left feeling hopeful.

“There was a lot of feeling from both sides and after talking about from both sides we discovered there is more in typical than what separates us,” said Mark Anthony.
