A man passed away and another individual was injured in a shooting early Saturday inside Seattle’s autonomous demonstration zone known as Capital Hill Organized Protest, cops stated.
The violence was reported about 2:30 a.m. near Cal Anderson Park, the Seattle Cops Department said in a statement.
One victim, described as a 19-year-old guy, was declared dead at a hospital, and the other, explained just as a male, was being treated for deadly injuries, the department stated.
“Officers attempted to locate a shooting victim but were fulfilled by a violent crowd that prevented officers safe access to the victims,” Seattle authorities stated. “Officers were later informed that the victims, both males, had been transferred to Harborview Medical Center by CHOP medics.”
“One method or another we need to be able to offer defense for people all over the state of Washington, consisting of that particular location,” he stated.
